Needle dread

Hi, my diabetes was being managed by taking 2 gliclazide tablets a day, but my Dr said that I would eventually have to switch to insulin injections.
I was very worried about that as I am a total needle phobic !!
10 days ago I was told my meds were no longer working, i was shown by the diabetes nurse how to operate the pen, but bottled it when she asked me if I wanted to do one there and then.
It was with great trepidation the next morning that I prepared myself for the dreaded injection !!
Well I was very surprised as I did not really feel it, so much so that I had to look closely to check it was actually in.
I think the finger prick testing is far worse.
All that worry over nothing.

Well done! I didn't get let out of the clinic until I'd demonstrated I could do the injection safely for myself. But I remember thinking "Oh, It's really not hurting!" as I did it.
