Hi, Just wondering if anyone had heard/seen these before??

http://injexuk.com/

A way of injecting insulin with no needle sounds too good to be true. I've signed up for more info which apparently should be out in a couple of weeks. The GMTV video on the website though looks very old?

I don't think it was this exact make or model, but I trialled something similar a few years back. No needles, the insulin is literally fired at high pressure into the skin. Left me with bruises everywhere and I found it much more painful than normal injections. Having said that, I bruise very easily. My GP at the time told me that some people have no problems whatsoever while others end up black and blue as a result.

Well, the video did show a dentist using the injector on patients' gums, so I would have assumed (hoped?) that there wouldn't be a lot of pain and bruising...

Slightly off topic but not quite :?

For kids who need growth hormone there is a new device, here is some info http://www.ferring.com/en/therapeutic/endo/

My daughter had daily GH jabs with a needle but I know that there are quite a few kiddies who are using this device and it doesn't seem to cause problems - I would assume it's the same type of thing.

I am using the injex needle free system, have been for a few weeks. Very hard to convince my doctor, and the diabetic team to put me on it. Refused to go on needle system so in the end, 6 months, they gave in.
Rep at Medical Marketing, (Mike) the suppliers very helpful. Is a bit painful, stings, does leave bruising. I don't like needles so I will be sticking with it.
I use the adaptor with and the same capsules as used in pens. Works for me.
