Nerve improvement Does this mean feeling pain ?

When I started to control the sugar level

Of course, the nerves gradually began to improve

Then I started to feel some pain I had not felt before

Does this mean gradually regaining sensation?
 
This is definately case of "No Pain, No Gain".

Pain (like Death) is nature's way of telling you to slow down.

The horrible disfigurement of leprosy is mainly caused by due to failure to feel damage. The "Diabetic foot" is an analogue of that.

That has improved gradually and I am now fine

Unless, of course, the pain is in your heels associated by a burning sensation and the smell of smoke.

In that case it may be nature telling you to speed up a little.
 
Its not just a case of being able to feel pain, its to feel anything
As my sugars reduced in the period after diagnosis, my feet returned to being extremely ticklish after having had no tickle response for years

This is very beautiful
I have seen some cases where the toes were burned without feeling the patient
This person had improved his health and recalled the sense of feel pain
