Bah I'm due to see my DSN in a couple of hours and will have the results of my first HBA1c since going on the insulin pump!!! I was 6.7 before going on the pump and I know with the horrendous high blood sugars I have had in the last couple of month that its going to have gone up a lot :( I hope she doesnt shout at me and take me off the pump! I had to fight for 3 years to get the pump, and now I have it, even with the issues I've had I dont wanna give it up!!!

Hia - do you know what's causing the high numbers? Is it just getting trying to get your basal rates sorted? Hope it hasn't gone too much the other way as 6.7 is extremelly good in my books.

I was doing OK up until about 2 months ago when my sugars started going through the roof... Even my DSN couldnt explain what was going on... Id do my sugar at 3am and have an OKish of between 5 & 8 however by 6 it would sometimes shot up to 20+ but othertimes only go up to about 14 (and yes I had thought about activities and food but my life is pretty boring and I eat the same stuff and do about the same exercise on a daily basis).

Then this last month I got a bit sicky with a bad kidney infection and other stuff which shot my sugars up and kept them constantly above 12 regardless of how much correction I was having :(

I went on a CGM last wednesday to figure out whats going on BUT that was messed up, took about 8 hours to get it to work THEN the first night it was giving completely wrong readings, 2nd night it looked OK then 3rd night was wrong reading then by the 4th night I was getting a error so finally took it off :(

HBA1c has gone up to 64 (8.0) :( but at least it's not as bad as ive been expecting :) my DSN did tell me with the results i've achieved for the last 3 days since i changed my basal, if they continue it should go down to about 7 :)

Taking into account the kidney infection playing havoc with your bg and the short time on the pump....... it could have been a lot worse! :o

What's the bet it's back to under 7 next time you have bloods taken :)
