I was originally diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes with a glucose reading of 30. I am now 40 years old.
Since then (4 yrs ago), I have been gradually reducing my insulin intake and as of January, my doctor suggested that I try and cease taking the insulin.
I have noted that whilst my readings are hovering below 13 (ish), the increased exercise and better diet have contributed to my ability to be able to manage quite well. I have felt that I have some pancreas function but it seems to be slow to respond to highs. The doc suggested that this might be "Nesidioblastosis", and sent off for loads of blood tests which I am still awaiting feedback.
I am also taking Statins (40) and Inhibace (2.5), and have been concerned also about early morning kidney pains since taking them. Does anyone else have the same problems? I am concerned that this is causing problems but I am "assured" that these tablets should protect my kidneys (feels like they're kicking them). Have some proteine in urin but at the moment low levels.
