ask your Pharmacist (they will probably say you need to see a Dr/diabetic nurse) but they will advise on creams etcI've been type 2 since 2003 and over the years i have had regular yearly foot checks. I started by saying that my big toes had a tingling in them and every year they have got worse and its spread to my whole foot with no response from the doctor when i mention it. I have it bad in my hands too but i have Acupuncture regularly and she can keep it comfortable. Not the case with my feet, they burn, are red and tingle all the time and i feel like i'm walking on sponge. I trip more and walking is painful. I keep seeing adverts on Facebook for cream, tablets and shoes. Do any of these things work? i don't trust these adverts and since you cannot get to see a doctor these days i thought i would ask those who are experiencing the same thing as me before parting with any money. Thank you
take it you've started off with a low dosage or switched over from gabapentin? takes a few weeks for it to build up in system. You can usually go upto 300mg twice a day (morning and evening) if necessary sending hugs. ps careful if get any constipation.. might need something to assist with bowel movements.I have recently been diagnosed with neuropathy in my feet. None of the Drs I’ve seen (GP, vascular surgeon or neurologist) understand why I’ve got it as my HbA1cs have been in the 30s for 8 years. I’m to have blood tests next week to look at other things like Vitamin B 12 deficiency. I have just literally yesterday started on Pregabalin for the pain.
Thanks for this info. Yes I’ve started on 75mg twice a day, go back to GP in a month to see if an increase is needed. (I have been on low dose amitriptyline for years for something else but have stopped that now as can’t take them both together.)take it you've started off with a low dosage or switched over from gabapentin? takes a few weeks for it to build up in system.
