Type 2 Neuropathy test

Its when they put a tuning fork on your big toe to see if you feel vibration or not hope that helps
I didn't have that, they just touched my toes with a small fibre to see if I could feel it and felt for a pulse in my feet.

At one foot appt. a handheld ultrasound was used to confirm that both my feet were pregnant. No tuning fork, though.

I had the tuning fork put on the inside of my ankles just beside my ankle bones.

I had the tuning fork test when I was referred to the podiatrist. My DN referred me because she found I couldn,,t feel anything on my feet when I said I had no feeling in my feet. Prior to this, I never had anyone checking my feet.
At the moment I am limbo because nobody at my surgery seem to be doing anything about it

My DN did the vibrating fork on my big toes as well. Then she probed each toe and said can you feel that and then the soles of my feet. Ending with an ultrasound thingy with gel on the front area of my feet.

Hi has anyone had the vibration test done and had 2 different outcomes thanks.
I had my feet checked at the Podiatrist's on Friday, I had a tickle prickle test, a blood flow ultrasound test, I had my toenails checked and cut as well.

I have not had a tuning fork test done for a number of years though, but come to think of it there was not one in the sterile package either.

I would ask for a referral to get something done. I have slight neuropathy but still have feeling and a good pulse but if you don't have you need to have something done about it to save further complications.

@ally1 has been battling for referrals and help for a very long time. She has her own threads about it.

I am going to see a neurologist tomorrow for the first time with a view to having a nerve conduction test, can anyone tell me if this will be done at the same time ?

Almost certainly not. The nerve conduction study takes a while and is a referral from a neurologist. Mine took about 30 minutes, i didn't like it !
