neuropathy type 2 can anyone help please

Hi all
dont know if anyone can help please?
I was diagnosed type 2 about 18 months ago.
im on metformin and sitagliptin. and 40
Over the past few months my sugars have been very eratic. Sometimes very high and sometimes very low.
I have had a shooting pain down my left leg for quite a while, but over the past few months my feet are either numb or really painful.
last week they were very numb and I lost my balance fell over and needed stitches in my leg.
I had retinopathy screening also which showed a couple of dots.
my gp has done random venus blood sugars and they have come back in the high teens. But my hba1c is 43?
I have a podiatrist appointment next friday.
my question is do you think the hba1c is wrong as none of it makes any sense.
 
Highs and lows will give a mid range average.
I assume you have a meter if you seeing highs and lows.
If not, you need to get one and test after foods.
You need to avoid the foods that give you any highs.

Did the sudden increase in BS ever get resolved?

yes I have a home meter.
I was put on sitagliptin about 2 monthscago aling with the metformin, but my readings and the ones the nurse did were still high?
Really confused by the hba1c result x
 
Im really good at tge low carb diet and have lost 4 stone since diagnosis.
Im now a healthy weight.
But still dont get this hba1 c result x
 
Has the pain and numbness down the leg actually been diagnosed as due to the diabetes or is it just assumption. I only ask as one of my work colleagues has a problem with a bulging disk in her back which was putting pressure on the nerve. Shooting pains down the legs, pins and needles much of the time and a certain amount of numb feeling. All of which slowly got worse and the pain was constant until her back was operated on. I am sure there are others here now more about this type of condition and may be able to say if it fits or not, my experience is second hand, but it might be worth checking.
