Neuropathy

So I think I potentially might have some issues with my feet. So recently I've been unwell and my Bm's have been on the higher side. I've had some of these symptoms for years but not really fully acknowledged them until now. Sometimes I feel like I've got something stuck between my toes, sometimes I get tingling in my feet and Radom pains in my feet or hands. From what I've read this seems like it matches Neuropathy symptoms. Is this something that can become serious? Does anyone else suffer from this? I usually notice it when I'm not well like when I had COVID early last year. I'm going to call up about it but it's a rather scary thing to potentially have. Thank you

At the very least you can stop it getting worse, if mild maybe even reversed. You need to talk to your team about this and how to avoid spikes in BS.

I have (or had) neuropathy in my feet. At its worst it was a burning pain that stopped me sleeping. It did go away (95%) once my BGs came back to normal but I still have a slight residual tingle (not pain thankfully) which is probably permanent damage. I'd talk to your diabetes team about it.

Morning. I wrote about exactly the same thing around March/April time I think, as I’d had Covid with high sugars for a while after and been left barely able to walk. I had a chat with the nurse who said that I should see how I was after my BG returned to normal. It’s very depressing I know as you feel as if you’ve brought it on yourself and the pain is relentless. Anyway she was right and it’s mostly gone, but rears it’s head when I have an infection or cold. I am on Pregabalin but was on that for mild neuropathy before, so it’s tolerable now and doesn’t keep me awake and I’m not aware of it at work ( I’m on my feet all day ). I’ve been type 1 for 47 years so feel quite lucky. X
