Anyone else in my situation?

Not been to GP but thus is what I'm thinking.

45 years on insulin. In recent weeks my right arm really aches especially round elbow, little muscle power in lifting and pulling. Thigh muscles, standing up really hurts them. Right hand gets numb if its clenched for too long, fingers a bit numb.

Balance also affected, head heavy and woozy.

Any thoughts please?

There are lots of things this could be, it may not be connected to your diabetes at all @DiabeticDi.
Link to the symptoms of diabetic neuropathy

like @Fairygodmother says it’s best to make an appointment with your GP and get checked out, if only to put your mind at rest.

That sounds nothing like my neuropathy, which was all tingling, pins and needles, stabbing pain. No numbness. As is usually typical, mine was (only) in my feet. It didn't affect muscle strength and usuing muscles didn't trigger it. Not everything we have is related to diabetes.

Bilous and Donnelly have a lot of descriptions of neuropathy, but are very short on being able to do anything about it. They also advise that other causes of neuropathy (eg B12 deficiency) need to be excluded before assuming a symptom is diabetic-related.

My neuropathy did however go very quickly as soon as my BG returned to normal. I have some residual non-painful tingling which is probably permanent damage from the six or seven years with it undiagnosed.
