i recently achieved an a1c of 5.6
down from 6.5
i went to the cde for my normal appt and she said that wasnt good
so i asked what did she want it to be
she said 6.5
so now im confused
i thought it was a healthier number
and worked my butt off to get there

my goal is to be 4-7 at all times
i use 70 units lantus twice a day
i use a rapid insulin with a ratio of 3 units
of insulin to every carb gram

i feel as though no changes are required
but i have to see the cde and she isnt happy with a good number
does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not on insulin, but the lower number I'd obviously better. They may be concerned about hypos.

I have got mine down to 5.4% and everyone is happy, so why your DE is unhappy with 5.6% I would not know.

I would give here a silly grin and say "I will try and do better next time at getting it higher for you".

5.6% is a great figure to get down to so well done mate. :D
