Something is going wrong with my diabetes its going low and Im having to eat loads to get it to go from three to seven its not normal usually it rises really fast and this is happening all day long Can anyone think of anything

How long has this been happening? If it's only been for a few days it could be that you've picked up a bug? This will often have a big effect on my blood sugar levels - although usually making them higher than normal. I'd advise you to keep checking your levels reguarly, adjust your insulin accordingly.

What time of day are you going low? Is there a pattern to it?
Has your diet or level of activity changed?
Are you feeling normal in between the hypos, or have you been unusually fatigued or dizzy when you stand recently?
What insulin regime are you on?
Have you lost weight?
Sorry for the ton of questions, but we'll need more data to try to help.

Please let us know how long you've been diagnosed, what insulin you're on, how many injections you do per day, what your diet's like, how often you test, what your results usually are & what results you're getting now. Do you always inject the same amount of insulin or does it vary with what you eat? If it does, how do you calculate the correct dose?.

Anytime of day there is no pattern been like this nearly 2 weeks I do have a chest infection had antibiotics for it but it's still not gone, but usually my blood is high when I have an infection. Diagnosed 11 years now. I take novo rapid and do at every meal I work it out by carb counting every

Ok, thanks Miss Hilton!

I'm not an expert, just had type 1 for 33 years, but I have found that my insulin requirements sometimes change for no obvious reason. I'm on a pump, and can set the hourly insulin rate at different times of day as my basal insulin, then do bolus insulin for meals or correction doses.
My basal overnight has been 0.5u/hr at it's lowest, had been 0.6u/hr for months before that but suddenly I was going hypo at night all the time. I think it was 0.7u/hr at it's highest, and I never really knew why it changed.
If you're getting hypos all the time, I would tend to think it might be that you're getting too much long acting basal insulin. Do your hypos occur soon after meals or a few hours after?
Do they happen after you've corrected an earlier high blood glucose?
Are they happening overnight & at what time?
