My new BG Monitor has arrived! Great excitement as I ran out of testing strips for my old meter a few days back and have really missed checking things with my monitor!
When diagnosed the DN issued me with a lovely AgaMatrix WaveSense Jazz meter - such a fancy name for a BG Monitor. Trying to get a Sharps box to dispose of lancets was a real struggle, But then I had to make do with only 6 lancets for quite some time! I finally got the sharps box and more lancets after asking at least 10 times. I was assured that I could get strips on prescription, but then told that a repeat prescription was not possible, and my strips cut down from 100 to 50 at any one time. 50 last no time at all and I seem to be getting mix messages - 'Please do test', but 'Dont ask for too many strips etc.'
It's bad enough managing all my other prescriptions without the added hassle of chasing them for strips. I have bought a couple of lots myself, but they don't come cheap and I was using quite a lot as the meter seemed rather erratic.
So .......I have bought the Codefree one with much cheaper strips. Brand new, straight out of the box, 2 hours after lunch I tested at 6.3 .....tried the other hand just to double check, that was 6.3 too. That's a very pleasing figure for me, so looks like the monitor is a keeper! I will probably use the other one sometimes when I can get supplies!
