Thank you. I will buy a meter. Do you have an idea of cost? or which model is best?
Thank you
EDIT Sorry duplicated a lot of what Bluetit1802 said. I got distracted mid typing and Bluetit1802 beat me to it!
I don’t consider myself ‘cured’, possibly ‘in remission’ or ‘reversed’ but really I just think I’m just ‘very well controlled’, my GP describes me as that too. If I stopped my meds or relaxed on my diet I’m sure my blood sugars would rise again.Thank you. I will definitely buy a meter. It's just that everything I seem to like has a lot of carbs in it. I used to eat a lot of takeaways and sweet things so I thought I might only have to cut the sweet stuff out but it seems like I am going to have to be a lot more strict. Are you now "cured" so to speak?

When I was first diagnosed I thought the same - never had a sweet tooth so cutting out sugar will be a doddle....its only once you realise its carbs as well that you start to see the real impact, especially on foods that you may of though of as healthy in the past - I followed a Low Fat diet for years and years, never lost any weight, and meanwhile in the background was sliding into T2. This forum, and the dietdoctor website is a real eye opener, its like a journey of discovery once you realise the universal presence of carbs in modern foods - having said that - I am now lighter, fitter, than at any point in my adult life, at 50 I am enjoying life to the full - I consider myself to be in 'control' ie, normal non diabetic blood sugar, maintained mainly by diet, no meds, and eating very healthy food that I once would have run a mile from ! - have a look at the success stories in this forum - lots of people here doing amazing things.Thank you. Double cream is virtually carb free. I have strawberries and cream with low carb coconut ‘porridge’ (not real porridge, not a grain in sight) for breakfast: https://www.dietdoctor.com/recipes/keto-coconut-porridge) and strawberries and cream for dessert every night. Is cream ok then? I thought that might be bad. Would strawberries and cream be ok for a dessert?

Baked potato with cheese and beans. Would that be ok?
