New drugs and now scared

I’ve been given Gliclazide and rybelsus and I’m scared of hypos.

I was already on 80mg of gliclazide with my 10mg of Dapagliflozin but it hasn’t been working as I was plagued with thrush on the daily. So stopped the Dapagliflozin with permission.

I’ve to start 3mg of the rybelsus then increase to 7mg but they’ve doubled my Gliclazide which’s wasn’t mentioned in my phone call so a wee bit blindsided there and I can’t phone till Monday as I only got my medication tonight.

They then didn’t give me my strips for my machine which didn’t bode well at all. I do like to check as I’ve had hypos before not many but a few in the past. It’s the usual highs then the lows so I always like to check.

Has anyone been on both these medications together and how did it go.

I know one of the side effects for the rybelsus is being sick or feeling nauseous. Not much cop if you can’t eat or drink for 30 minutes.

So a wee bitty worried.

boots for me sometimes can do an emergency prescription. just whats on repeat presciption slip or something else under minor ailments. if running low on test strips could you perhaps ask them if they can do via above? (never have had either meds mentioned). i got emergency supply co-codomal a few times alongside some pregablin til repeat was sorted out, have also had test strips as lots of hypos due to insulin with honeymoon (t1/lada). (which made me then ask for them just to order for me) im in scotland unsure if that would make any difference.

I’m Scotland to and could ask tomorrow as it’s on my repeat and I did order it but not in the bags.

This isn’t the first time they’ve done this either most annoying.

Do you have online access to see what's been prescribed, as it may be the chemist just didn't have the test strips in stock, and will deliver when they have them.

No they usually give a wee note saying that but didn’t this time.
