Hi all,

I saw a new Endo yesterday here in Sydney and I have now cleared out all the old quacks and replaced everyone one of them, GP's Opthomologists, Endo,Pediatrists etc.

As stated in a previous thread i am always high in the morning, 10-11mmol by time i got to bed i am 5-6mmol. in the last 12 months I have had several eye exams for contacts, glasses etc and my last test showed abnormalities in my eyes which turns out to be non threatening Retinopathy. Following this i had HBA1c test and in 3 months it went from 6.7 to 7.9.

So given i was told by all and sundry that there is no problem and I am doing well etc etc I cleared the decks and got a new Endo.

She was really good, suggested i pick up a Fresstyle Libre CGM to see whats happening over night, Changed my medication and added 10mg of Forxiga along with my Januvia(100mg) and Diabex. She has also put plans in place incase this course doesnt work. She also talked about new treatments, meds etc and whats coming up on the horizon

it was nice to see someone who had some urgency and seemed to have new ideas and has been keeping up with the times.

She was impressed that i have gotten my blood pressure down and my cholesterol in just over a month. took them both from way out of range to in range and happy.

First fasting reading on the new regime was an 8.0mmol. So an improvement already.,

Hoping this goes well

So after one week of being on the trio of FORXIGA, Januvia and Metformin. I have notice a couple of things. the biggest one for me is the increase in the need to pee. oh my god like 7 times during work day.

Every morning my fasting BGL has been 7.3mmol. which is a fair way down from 10-11 that i have been experiencing since diagnosis.

I have the new Lifestyle Libre on its was and should arrive tomorrow. using it for the next month to see what happens at night.

feeling a bit more confident that meds along with the continued effort are bringing it back in range.

Hi, it is most likely the forxiga making you pee. I am on it also. As your sugars come down you will pee less :). In the meantime, the less carbs you eat, the less sugar you will pee out, and the lower the chance of the med causing thrush. I have been on it 6 months while also low carbing and have had no problems at all. Good luck to you, it sounds as though you are getting it figured out :D

I know you are peeing lots but don't forget to drink lots of water, dehydration is dangerous.

Chalup,

You are most certainly right. It was side effect i was warned about. .. Lol its a vicious circle, drink more water, cause more pee... You pee and get dehydrated so you drink...... Circle of life..
