new glucose testing meter

Been given a Finetest Lite meter - all is not going well my readings are so much higher than before - no change in low carb diet - so problem is do I inject higher levels of insulin and have a hypo or go back to surgery and say the meter is inaccurate - for example fasting blood test reading was around 5 and now is 7. Also had several 8 readings during the day much to my surprise. My last Hbaic in October was 5.3 at this rate it could be anything !!
 
Hi @mes77, the problem is, which meter is more accurate.? A HBA1C of 53 is a dream.
I would suggest you contact the surgery and ask for advice about your BSL measures and insulin doses.
 
Many thanks kitedoc - went to surgery and said what was happening they offered me an appointment next week ! I said is the meter faulty can I have another - which they gave me - have tested it, it read 6.4 as against the first meter of 7.7 at the same time - so will have to see
