Hi.
2 months ago the endocrinologist put a diagnosis of 'type 3c' on my hospital file when going over my history of pancreatitis while pregnant 2 years ago. I'm currently pregnant again and she has said that this is what I have as my levels were far too high to be 'gestational diabetes'. I'd had ongoing issues with digesting foods since the pancreatitis and it's just gotten worse.
She's prescribed creon to take with 3 main meals a day and it helped so much! I was able to eat without being in agony. Which was incredible. Until now.. It seems my pancreas doesn't want to play fair or I'm used to the current dosage of creon ( 25,000? 3 times a day ). Apparently it's not safe to increase until after baby is born which is another 6 weeks away.
I'm also on levemir and humalog but still having trouble keeping my bsl in the strict range or under 5 fasting and under 6.7 2 hour post meals.
Not sure I really need advice, it was just nice to find other people who have this seemingly rare form of diabetes!! I actually felt excited!!
Although, they've now put on my file 'type 1' as here in Australia, it seems no one knows what we're on about.
So hello!!!
