New Interview with Dr Ben Bikman

@Guzzler - I think you're another fan of Bikman's so will probably enjoy this.

Get Into Ketosis Quick w/ Insulin to Glucagon Balance - Ben Bikman, PhD:

Thanks Indy, I do like Ben Bikman's approach.

Absolutely fascinating. The topics covered are too many to list but glucagon is covered as is (near the end) LDL being protective against sepsis. Ketosis is discussed at some length. Great stuff.

Great explanation of false hypos too...and that a clinical hypo (I'm guessing for a T2 or regular metabolic person) is mid 2's..

@Tannith may find this talk enlightening.. especially on the subject of saturated fat around 25 minutes in..

Wow this is turning into my most favourite interview ever..

Aye, he's good isn't he. This is a video I could view a dozen times and still be learning stuff.

I found the comments on the 'demonisation' of gluconeogenesis really telling because when I first joined the forum the explanation of DP made me think that gng was undesirable.

I reckon I need to watch that quite a few more times too...
A huge resource of wisdom!

There's also an earlier interview with the same participants:

I saw this one quite a while ago but I think it would be very useful to revisit it. Thanks for reminding me that there was a Part 1.

Must admit, I much preferred Mike Mutzel's High Intensity Health channel back when he was just doing interviews. All the new live/paid/member content, vlogs walking, exercising, with chickens, etc. aren't my thing at all. He has some brilliant interviews with some great people though.

Yes, Ben Bikman is a straight talking super-knowledgable great communicator. Low-carbing and keto about having healthy bodies, acknowledging the 'smartness' factor of our hormonal/metabolic systems. Mike Mutzel is certainly a good interviewer - I find him directing the discourse well, and being low-key as a personality in this scenario, which is what you want really.

Another new Ben Bikman interview - yay!!!
