I don't see how anyone can second guess what your consultant has prescribed. Surely he's the only one who can tell you what medication he wants you to take and why.
You could try contacting your surgery, your consultant will have will have written a letter to your GP informing them of any changes to your medication. Maybe they can help ?
Hi,
To be fair, regarding the "letter to the GP.?" (With a report on managment or change in script.) It's usually common practice (with me anyway.) to CC the patient into this corespondence, too..
With the seasonal period falling like it is & "everything else" currently happening. It may take a little longer than usual..
Oddly, the last amendment I had (early this year.) was a Libre2 added. I'd did show up on my repeat online script just before my coppy of the letter showed up.. But all this was after a phone discussion with my GP, where he seemed confused at the news of an amendment refering to the previous year's notes where I was turned down for the sensor..
It can take a while to filter through...
The consultant did say it would probably be in the new year and I should get a call from my gp surgery about the new medication. I know people can’t say for definite what this medication is but I just wondered if anyone had been in a similar position. Whilst at my review I wasn’t given any blood test results!
Hi,
I'm hoping you get lucky.
They gave you no idea what this "weekly" & extra tab could be?
Bydureon is once weeklyThe once weekly injections, like Trulicity, tend to cause weight loss through decreased appetite. However, like @JacGolden I am having lots of nausea and retching/vomiting having started it 3 weeks ago. I don't know of any other drugs that might be a once weekly injection. The tablet could be anything!
Yes it is. They are glutides.Bydureon is once weekly
Think it’s same family as trulicity?
Ahh cool, I was on that in its daily and the weekly form for about a decade with good results. But as with all drugs, different ones have different side effects.Yes it is. They are glutides.
