New member with diabetes in friends & family

I totally disagree with what you’ve said that insulin is toxic. That’s false!

Insulin is our friend and it’s a clean medicine.

Without insulin, T1s including some T2s will die.

I know that but too much is dangerous- according to what I’ve read anyway. I know people who think it’s ok to gorge on carbs & then just fix it with extra insulin, & though it (BG) does have to be brought down, using insulin in this way is, I believe dangerous. I will see if I can find the Research paper I read that said this

That's what I meant really. I know that many people just quick fix on insulin as a way of managing the BG instead of watching their carbs. Not only does it store fat but a build up can have a very detrimental effect on health. As with so many of our natural hormones, homeostasis is key
