Hi everyone, having been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes from the age of 15 (14 years ago)i am still fighting to maintain good control.
this is partly to do with me being in denial about my condition and trying to hope it would go away.
i realise that this is not going to happen and that i need to get a grip of the problem, reading some of your posts i realise that i am not alone in the way i have felt and hopefully talking with other people like yourselfs i will be able to gain some control.
i have lots of questions to ask you all in the coming weeks so i look forward to chatting.

Hi Zoe
that must have been so shocking to be diagnosed with diabetes at age 15. Its great that you are taking some bigger steps now to get it all under control, and this forum sees very good at providing a lot of information about people's own experiences of works and doesn't work for them. You are certainly not alone in how you've felt and for me, who was much the same, its been good firstly to find that out and stop feeling bad about things that I can't change, and also to start feeling positive about what is possible in the future.
Now, its off to the gym [:p] Looking forward to hearing about how things are getting better for you!
