Diagnosed in 1961 aged 17 with T1.
Until 2 years ago I had led a good diabetic life. Walking has become difficult following a number of falls. My physical balance has been lost. In the house I walk with the aid of a 4-wheeled trolley & outside with a wheelchair. Thankfully I have a live-in carer following my retirement to live in Cyprus.
Following the 2nd Covid booster (I’ve now had 5), my insulin dependency has diminished considerably. For many years I took 27u Levamir at breakfast plus 3u at bedtime. Novorapid 7u (av) at mealtimes.
Now; 25u Levamir at breakfast only. & 3 or 4u at meals. My blood sugars take a big drop overnight with too many hypo’s.
I suggested to my doctor that was it possible my pancreas was partially working again. This was dismissed as “impossible”
I’m interested to know if others have had a similar experience?
