Hi, just wanted to introduce myself as I have finally been brave enough to become a member. I was diagnosed type 2 almost 2 years ago at age 49. I have since then struggled to bring my levels down a great deal. They were 10 when I was diagnosed after fasting and now average 8.6. My husband and family have been a great support but I have relied on guidance from diabetic nurse and GP. My medication started off at 1 metformin and I am currently on 3 a day. I discovered your site on searching the web to gain more knowledge about diabetes and have decided to try the low carb way. I look forward to advice and support from you guys as I still feel a bit overwhelmed with all the information. Linda
