Hi guys ! It's my first few days on this thing and I guess I would kick my first topic post off with my new meter . I have had many different meters and I have approached a new touchscreen meter called the insulin-x you can look it up if you want . This meter asks if you have had insulin within 4 hours. You test your blood and u need to put in carbohydrates but u have to keep hitting the '+' button and it takes ages 1..2..3..4..5..6 it takes ages ! I wondered u thoughts on this ? Yay or nay ? Not a fan of the slow input meters. I did use one at one point, liked the inbuilt calculator. But soon grew tired of holding the + button for minutes at a time lol. So now just use a standard meter in conjunction with my phone. Have an android app that calculates everything in seconds instead, even remembers when i last took a shot and how much IOB there is and makes necessary adjustments.

I got this one as well, and liked the calculator but the + is terrible! I stopped using it after a short time thou because I have cataracts and the screen was unreadable.

I do my calculations by hand but a phone app is also a good idea :)
 
Thx Paulina ! I might get rid of it soon the + is doing my head in !! It takes ages and I always forget to log the dosage and it stresses me out thx

Sorry for late reply was busy with work. Use 'insulin bolus calculator' its a paid app but only a small fee. Will try to describe it a little :-/ There is no + button to hold instead you have a scroll wheel which you swipe to desired number, is pretty fast. Logs your doses and makes adjustments for IOB. Has an insulin accuracy of (0.1) (0.5) or (1.0) best one I've found as to yet. There are some free ones but they dont take into account IOB. So depends what your after i guess. Cya :-)
