Hi everyone, just joined on behalf of my wife , Pat doesn't do computers , still believes in pencils and pigeons, last week the clinic decided as a cost saving exercise to issue the Agamatrix Jazz meter, all well and good except the the lance is not that good if you have RA, in your hands, also back up from the company is dreadful especially when trying to download the software tried 5 times to no avail. The app for my Iphone is playing up as well , there is also a problem with that. I know the NHS is short of funds , but would have been a better alternative to ask the diabetic which meter. Anyone experienced the same problems

Do you have to use their lancet? I just bought a new meter but still use my old fastclix pen and lancets. Just a thought.
Sorry, I can't help with your other queries as I am not on insulin and have to buy my own meters.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Depending on which area you live ( but most have this policy ) you don't have to accept the meters the bean counters insist on pushing as a cost cutting exercise . Especially if the person has additional problems such as sensory or physical difficulties. RA falls into these categories.

I would advise a face to face chat with the GP, DN , or practise manager and oh so politely request to be returned to Pat's previous meter if she was happy with that, or a more suitable alternative .

Good luck ! :)
