Hi, I am Ruth. Type 1 since 5 years old, now 52. Also have hypothyroidism since 13 years of age. Family history of autoimmune disorders (including family members with - luckily very mild - psychotic/schizophrenia type disorders. Born and brought up in Manchester. Lousy control until three months ago when I got a pump. I have lived in Turkey for the last ten years. I have no side effects apart from an inability to spread my toes, which I've had since a child, and which really, really bugs me so I never think about it!
