Just changed my reservoir on my first pump- the VEO for the first time with saline.
i got there in the end
with practice i should improve.
I had very little input from my DSN only 1 hour training and off you go.
i was told to order some supplies but she didn't tell me how.
i will phone her tomorrow. she is very nice and we get on well.shes also type 1.

but i need a bit more help from her

Just think of re filling the reservoir like withdrawing insulin from a vial using a syringe.....push air up into the vial and slowly withdraw, push insulin and air back up into the vial and slowly withdraw again and repeat process until you get a reservoir with insulin and no air bubble. Get reservoir up to body temp and then as insulin warms up, an air bubble will appear. Flick to the top where the neck is and push the air out

@caretaker when you phone Medtronic they will hopefully confirm you have an account set up by your hospital. They are very helpful and ensure you get what you need delivered to the address of your choice and tell you what day to expect delivery.

Each item you use, reservoir, cannula, inserting device has a code on the packet and on the box. Quote this code and it will ensure you get the correct item. I am allowed to order 3 months of supplies at a time including batteries. Once registered with Medtronic you can also order online at their website shop.

I'm sure your DSN will assist you further but don't panic you will get the correct items delivered within a few days. Good luck with the insulin start.

Re... the screen display on the Veo

Have a look in the instruction book to see if the contrast can be altered to make the screen display brighter and more prominent. Ring up Medtronic and ask if you cannot find any info.

The contrast can't be altered on the Veo, the only option is to put the backlight on. Ask your DSN to enquire if Medtronic would consider changing your pump to a 640g once they become available if you are really struggling with the screen.
