Sorry to post a new thread but I thought it was news-worthy :D

Just back from the quacks having collected my recent test results, shown below and compared to results from 3 months ago:

LDL 1.51 down from 2.87
HDL 1.62 up from 1.47
Total Cholestorol 3.4 down from 4.7

And here's the big one for me

HBA1c 5.8% down from 6.6%

If I was ever in any doubt my controlled carb, slightly higher fat diet is a good thing I'm not now!

As far as I can tell all my results are well below the recommended range (which I take to be a minimum standard anyway).

I'll confess to being very pleased, and to celebrate will get smashed tonight :D

hya gov,
thats excellent, im so pleased fo u,
happy new year :D

Congratulations! A great start for a NEW YEAR

Cheers all, my good news yesterday morning was turned around when my boiler packed up last night!

BG have been out and got me up and running but have advised that parts might be an issue for me, so will no doubt recommend I get a new boiler at some point.

Anyone know any good, reasonable and trustworthy fitters in the Southampton area? :D

They usually use the Friedewald formula to calculate LDL from the measured lipids, I ran it backwards (but sometimes I get the number wrong as it has different factors for UK and US numbers)

My verdict: you will live forever, as long as your web doesn't snap
