Eprotirome is still several years away from being on the market so this one does not seem to be the one your doctor is talking about. Plus it seems the small trial they did only used men.

Secondly, you either accept the cholesterol/statin hypotheseis or you don't. If you don't (like me), you wouldn't want to take statins, "safe" or otherwise.
