Hi everyone my name is Lorraine I'm 43 yrs old married with a son 9 yrs and a daughter 13years. I was diagnosed in 1998. I got by on diet for 5 years then tried unsuccessfully several oral medications which gave me allergic reactions and side effects that I couldnt tolerate due to other health problems. I was put on Insulin humilin I in Feb this year. Apart from huge bruising and hypos quite often I manage. My 13 year old has a severe learning disability and my 9 year old suffers from seizures so life is quite stressful at times but I get on with things and I'm a sensible person. I'm new to the forum and look forward to reading discussions and topics. xxx :D :D

Hi Lorraine. You have a load of hard work.
If you can keep your blood glucose as level as possible at around 5 - 7,preferably at the lower end, you'll feel well and be better equipped to cope. If you browse through these forum pages, you'll find several strategies for GOOD blood Glucose control. One will jump out as something that suits you. Look in the "Stickies"
Good Luck
Hana
