So called specialists with no idea of the effects their stupidity has on people living with Diabetes. They should listen to us as we know the problems, not them!
Hi All,

New to this forum after doing a google search on Glargine issues.
I am type 1 diabetic, have been for 17yrs now. Just had my insulins changed from Glargine/Novorapid to Insulatard/Actrapid.

Found the change has improved my quality of life a huge amount and given me back the control over my diabetes, improving my BM's & Hypo awareness.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum

There's a few people on the site i've read that have changed from glargine/lantus.

I myself was on lantus until i changed to an insulin pump so now i only use novorapid, but i didn't peronally have any problems.

But it's good to hear after you've changed it's alot better for you!

Hi Ebony,
A work colleague of mine also changed to an insulin pump due to issues with Lantus, he has also said it has made a huge difference to his life.

I'm not quite sure what causes lantus to cause certain issues but it's becoming more apparent it's a common problem!

i love my insulin pump and would make a run for it if they tried to make me go back!

Hi bigpapalazarou and welcome to the forum I see you have already had answers to your post. Although you were diagnosed 17 years ago I thought you might be interested in this basic information which the Forum Monitors have written for new members. You might find something in here which will help you in improving your control of your diabetes.

Hi Daisy1,

Unfortunately after 17yrs i have enough knowledge to know what was working and what wasn't.

Not having a go, this info is excellent for newbies to diabetes, all old hat to me i'm afraid.

Sorry. I was teaching a grandmother to suck eggs then  Glad to hear you know all you need and have excellent control.

Just a shame that this kind of support and info wasn't readily available in 1994.

BP.......
There is a large thread here in Diabetes Medication and Drug's entitled Lantus Problem's which may be of interest to you ? Many Member's have problems with it, however there are just as many who don't.

Cugila,
i've browsed thr
ough the forums and noticed the Lantus issues.
Seems they occur when people are moved onto the analogue insulins from older insulins.

Yep.....there is definitely some sort of link I think, however you will find Janabelle (Jus) is one who has lot's of good info and links about Lantus and the problems some have had. If she hasn't already seen your comments about it I am sure she will........

We had to make a separate Topic for it as we got so many who have had troubles. Keeps other threads from being de-railed.
