Hi.

I was diagnosed Type 2 a little over 5 years ago .

Initially started off on Metformin , but was switched to Gliclazide and (sigh memory fails me) after about a year .
Hba1C had been gradually increasing every 3 months.
Fell off the wagon a few times.
Got depressed for over a year.
Climbed back on the wagon :-) followed a healthy lifestyle , only to have HBa1C's continue to climb.

Finally (8 weeks ago) started on Insulin (Humalog Mix 25). 30u before breakfast and 30u before evening meal.
What a miraculous change in me , my moods are 1000% better (except for today as I have got the worst case of man flu in the world ever).

Have a few concerns still.

I work with kids with emotinal and behaivoural problems. We had a few instances , when a child has 'kicked off' (meaning they want to trash the room etc...) and I find after we have calmed them down , I have had a Hypo. Same thing happened 1st time I did PE with the kids ( now know to reduce insulin on a PE day :D )

Ohh while I think about it , does anyone know where I can get a small container for some dextro tablets that I could hang from my ID badge/keyring whilst at work ??

Well thats me

Hi dixaster
Please describe your "Healthier" diet to us. If it's the "eat complex carbs with every meal" one, it's no wonder your HbQA1c has gone up. that diet does keep your BG steady,BUT HIGH!!!!
