I’m scared about going back to the doctors for my check up as I let things slip and got back into my old habits. It was last chance saloon before I have to go onto injections

Hi @Karen1968 and welcome

Can you tell us a bit more? Which type of diabetes? How were you managing before? Maybe we can help get you back on track?

Hello and welcome,

that sounds really tough.

However, before going back to the doctor I suggest you have a bit of a read around here so that you have a bit more information about what other steps you can take to help control your diabetes. if you post some more information we may be able to suggest things that can help- it may or may not mean you can avoid mediation but I guess my view is that it never hurts to get more information.

I also suggest that you start testing your blood sugar levels if you are not currently doing that. it can be challenging but the levels will still be there whether you test them or not. At 51 you are just a bit younger than me so have a lot more life to live. I have been diagnosed used for just over a year and I was a real carboholic- I didn't know a carb I didn't love-lol. This site has let me turn my health right around. my blood sugar levels are in the normal range- the only medication I take is metformin- still have a lot of weight to lose. I thought I would find very low carb and for a while I really did but the wonderful people helped and supported me through that. While I still love carbs I can live well without them.

Let us know what type you are and what steps you have taken to manage it- people here are very willing to help.

Good luck and welcome.
