Hello, I am new to the forum, but not to Diabetes. I am 65 years old and have Type 2 Diabetes for several years. I would like to ask if anyone else has the same problem as me. For the last few weeks I have been feeling tired during the day, sometimes even after a good nights sleep. Yesterday I was alseep all day, and found myself twitching and very sleepy. I usually have either wheetabix or porridge for breakfast, two wholemeal ham sandwiches, an apple and a glass of water at lunch and then either fish, chicken, or pork with potatoes, carrots, peas and green beans with a little gravy at dinner time. For afters at dinner I have a pear, and a small clementine with natural yogurt. During the day I have about 3 mugs of coffee as well. My morning readings are between 3.9 and 5.2, and before lunch, between 5.8 and 8.2, Before Dinner, between 5.6 and 8.2, after dinner between 6.0 and 10.3. I cannot eat anything less as I feel hungry sometimes. Before I go to bed I always eat something, either plain biscuits or crackers in case my blood sugar level dips during the night. On my Gloucose reading machine my 14 day average is between 6.1 and 6.5. I am doing anything wrong. I am on Metformin, Gliciazode,Trandolapil, Simvastin, Amitriptyline and Aspirin. I think I should also mention that last year I broke my right hip and six years ago I broke my left hip, so I am very limited when it comes to excercises, I am still struggling to walk now after my last fall. Thank you, and I apologise for this post being so long.
