Hi my name is Vicki and I was diagnosed with T2 in October 2014, I slept excessively had a blood test and that's how I found out.

Does anyone else sleep alot and if so what have you done to sort it out or is it forever part of the condition ?

@flygirl69 - Hello and Welcome to the Forum. In the early days of being diagnosed I was always tired, sleepy and lacked energy. Are you testing your blood sugars on a daily basis? And are you diet/exercise controlled or on medication? If so, what? :)

Hi and welcome,

The tiredness normally comes with high blood sugar levels and eating too many carbohydrates. Once your levels come down and you find yourself a better way of eating, the tiredness will go and your energy levels will be better than ever. Even non-diabetics can fall asleep after a carb laden meal.

I'll tag @daisy to come with her guide for new members. Have a read and take note of the role of carbohydrates, and have a good read round the forums. If you have any questions, you may find the answers by using the search box, otherwise, just ask.

Hi Vicki! Welcome!

I'm T1 and always tired - I sleep a lot! Though I've come to the realisation it's partly down to a vitamin D deficiency, and partly down to the fact I'm lazy & like my bed far too much! :joyful:
