and feeling a bit out of my depth. At the moment I am not on any medication but have been advised to make changes to my diet( I am overweight and have high BP) and get more exercise. I am trying very hard to do this. I attended a Desmond course yesterday . Most of those attending were taking medication and I was told I would probably end up on it too. I was hoping I would be able to control it by diet alone - has anyone been able to do this? I am also finding the diet advise confusing.

What was your glucose result? Reduce your carbohydrate intake. It may not be as bad as you think.

Hi welcome .
Best advice I can give is read the advice on here.
Reduce your carbs and move more. Being more active will help a lot

Check out the new you in 42 post for advice on being more active.

Your health provider won't tell you to reduce carbs but it helps for a lot of people

Hi Rosie, welcome to the Forum, have a good read of the forums and some of the other posts, you will find an awful lot of information and tips to help control your bg. Ask as many questions as you like, the people on here are very helpful and friendly and have a wealth of knowledge. There are a lot of members managing their diabetes by diet only.
