Hello and welcome :wave:

So sorry to hear of your diagnosis, what a horrible situation to be left in? :roll: Type 1 is when your pancreas has stopped working completely, or as I have said, mine died the death and I have to have insulin to live and type 2 is where your pancreas still has some function which can be managed by diet alone, diet and tablet medication and also with some insulin.

Type 1 diagnosis can be critical to that person and they could need urgent hospital care. The best thing would be to go back and get a proper diagnosis,as there is MODY/LADA as well. I hope you can find out ASAP. Try not to worry too much, but in the meantime you can get advice and support from lots of members here.
