Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
I'ma great fan of Lidl rolls as part of a low carb eating plan but I find them a bit dry and dull straight from the shop.
Up to now I have been dipping them under a running tap then putting them in an oven at 120 C for 10 minutes which perks them up a lot.

I've just bought a panini press. Needs to be one of these, not just a sandwich press. The difference is that the sandwich press hinges at the back so can't really handle thick sandwiches, but the panini press hinges around the middle of the lid and so can handle really thick stuff (like paninis).

This fits a Lidl roll (would easily take 3, but steady on) quite nicely. So I am now working through my repertoire of favourite cheese toasties inside Lidl rolls. Cheese and salami. Cheese and onion. Cheese and tomato next.

Go on. You know you want to.

I don't like the Lidl rolls toasted, prefer them cold but my family love paninni so I may try one. Which model did you get?

My (non-diabetic) husband makes Lidl protein roll panini with our George Foreman grill - his favourite is brie and cranberry.

I have a large George Forman grill, you may have just saved me some dosh so thank you.

Has anyone tried a Lidl roll fried? I haven't, but am thinking of doing so. Maybe tomorrow.

Can't stand the Lidl rolls myself but my husband likes them but he has never had them toasted so may try that for him in my George Foreman grill
