Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
I'ma great fan of Lidl rolls as part of a low carb eating plan but I find them a bit dry and dull straight from the shop.
Up to now I have been dipping them under a running tap then putting them in an oven at 120 C for 10 minutes which perks them up a lot.
I've just bought a panini press. Needs to be one of these, not just a sandwich press. The difference is that the sandwich press hinges at the back so can't really handle thick sandwiches, but the panini press hinges around the middle of the lid and so can handle really thick stuff (like paninis).
This fits a Lidl roll (would easily take 3, but steady on) quite nicely. So I am now working through my repertoire of favourite cheese toasties inside Lidl rolls. Cheese and salami. Cheese and onion. Cheese and tomato next.
Go on. You know you want to.
