I was recently diagnosed with type 1 after losing 30 lbs of weight very fast. I have since gained control of my sugar level through medication and diet. I have noticed that my joints are clicking a lot more lately and have not done this in the past. Mainly my shoulders, hips, wrists and ankles. Is this normal for new diabetes patients who have rapidly lost weight? Thanks for the help. Most other symptoms have gone away.

I had that clicking joints thing start when I was young, 11 years old. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was 13. I believe there is some connection. But before that throws you into a panic, I am not sure. And even if you have a thyroid problem along with the diabetes, the thyroid thing is small beans - a tablet a day, and a blood test once a year. So, tell them at the hospital. It may be something else entirely - the weight loss, for example. But still, mention it.
