Stopped making a fuss about New Year Eve a long time ago Snowy, it will be a quiet in with a Chinese Takeaway and a bottle of wine.

Same here always been in as it is my daughters birthday New Year's Day so was always busy, but now she is older she wants to go out herself.
Cannot say I am excited about it,but you never know I may enjoy looking like a fool lol.

My friends parent run a local social club, and have always done a New year gathering. Years ago it was at the village hall and I remember doing karaoke. Over the years the members numbers have dwindled and they now have New years eve at their house. We just go round, the "youngsters" in the living room with the tv, we watch films or play on the wii, or board games, and the "oldies" sit in the conservatory gossiping! They have drink and nibbles on hand. Its just nice to get together. ( The youngsters are averaging 30something in age)
Has anyone got plans for the new year?
I normally stay at home but this year we are going to a fancy dress party, now I have not done one of these since I was younger,I think it will be an interesting night.

Last time I celebrated New Year was the Millennium. Usually retire early with cup of bovril. The bonus is it is quiet on New Years day as everyone else usually has a hangover and have the bonus of another Bank Holiday on Jan 2nd in Scotland.
