Has anyone got plans for the new year?
I normally stay at home but this year we are going to a fancy dress party, now I have not done one of these since I was younger,I think it will be an interesting night.

Stopped making a fuss about New Year Eve a long time ago Snowy, it will be a quiet night in with a Chinese Takeaway and a bottle of wine.

Same here always been in as it is my daughters birthday New Year's Day so was always busy, but now she is older she wants to go out herself.
Cannot say I am excited about it,but you never know I may enjoy looking like a fool lol.

My friends parent run a local social club, and have always done a New year gathering. Years ago it was at the village hall and I remember doing karaoke. Over the years the members numbers have dwindled and they now have New years eve at their house. We just go round, the "youngsters" in the living room with the tv, we watch films or play on the wii, or board games, and the "oldies" sit in the conservatory gossiping! They have drink and nibbles on hand. Its just nice to get together. ( The youngsters are averaging 30something in age)

Looks like you have a fun night ahead,I have never done karaoke.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Karaoke. And now I'm in a Rock Choir so I'm happy.

Hi @Snowy12, I see Essex is down south of the Island, does it actually snow there over Christmas, or are you chancing your luck again.?

I'll be driving New year. But I do make Christmas eve my drinking night. Usually friends come to mine, this year though we are going out later and my friend is driving. I hate waking up alone on Christmas morning so try to have a late one so I don't get up too early. Due around my Dads at 11am. Christmas eve is the 1 night of the year that I can Guarentee I wont have to drive.

Last time I celebrated New Year was the Millennium. Usually retire early with cup of bovril. The bonus is it is quiet on New Years day as everyone else usually has a hangover and have the bonus of another Bank Holiday on Jan 2nd in Scotland.

Definitely walking or stumbling home lol.

Well here in more chilly climes it usually has snowed by now. Forecast says cold but showery for Xmas day. No doubt Mother Nature hasn't forgot and we will get an avalanche of the stuff soon lol.
