Hi to all, Just joined the forum.
I was diagnosed with T2 about three years ago. Strange to say but it has been of great benefit to me healthwise.
Im 46 and smoked since I was in my early teens. I gave up 2 and a half years ago and havent touched or wanted a smoke since. I also go to the gym a couple of times a week, most weeks
I started off on Metformin, then they added Glyclaside and about a year ago I started on Byetta. I've lost about three quarters of a stone so far. My hb1a or whatever its called when from about 17 to 8. I test myself on a meter a couple of times a day and my 7/14/30 day averages are in single figures mostly...
So all in all my health has improved as Im taking better care of myself. I still drink too much wine and beer though
I hate diabetes. My mood goes up and down with my BS levels... I fall asleep in the airmchair all the time...Somedays I feel quite low but others days Im good. I can't remember what it was like before I was diagnosed but Im sure I felt much better than this.
Still. Never mind, could be much much worse. I wish I'd looked after myself better and I wouldnt have have given myself this thing in the first place. 8)
I mainly want to get advice on diet from the chaps and chapesses on the forum as Im sure Im eating the wrong things - Byetta has vastly reduced my appetite but exercise makes me really hungry!
roblem:
Bye for now
Paul
