Hey all , new to this forum and I think it's great , so much information and advice to take on bored ! However I was hoping for some advice for my self !
I got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes around 8months ago , this was really hard for me to deal with at first and ended up falling into depression , iv over come that now and am hoping to tackle this head on now ! My problems are that I tend to snack alot on like crisps or choc , and tend not to take insulin for it but then make correction when it comes to meals time , I want to get out of snacking all together as I want to lose weight ! Also the main foods I like are pasta potatoes well mainly crabs Im very fussy , so I want to lower the amount of crabs I have but this is a massive challenge for me ! I'm currently 9 half stone and really want to lose a stone as I'm only 5'4 ! I need motivation which I don't seem to have in this cold weather !
Sorry for rambling would love some advice from you guys x

Re: Newbie ! Snacking and exercise !

First off.. Try not to buy snacks to have at home...

If you are going to reduce snacks then I would try one time of day and one day to start off with..

You need, I would suggest to check your levels every hour to see exactly what happens with your levels when you dont snack... As you may well find that your insulin will be a little bit wrong.

You need to be able to think positively to change any eating habit. It isnt a diet, but a lifestyle change that you are going to be starting.

Incidentally, why do you not inject when you snack?
