Newbie to forum tho long time type 2 diabetic

That is the EXACT same pattern for me. In fact when I discussed the impact of exercise with my DN she explained the same scenario actually applies to every individual, diabetic or not, but obviously those of us with wonky systems might have to adjust. For me, gentle exercise lowers it immediately and then the rest of the day it's back to normal, harder & longer exercise raises it initially but then it's markedly lower for the next 24 hours to the point where it's practically hypo territory. Makes management tricky to say the least as I am always having to think well in advance 'What will I be doing over the next 24 hours' so that I can try and reduce any insulin beforehand. Then if my plans change or I don't get chance to do the planned exercise up goes the glucose level because of the previously reduced dose!!! Oh the joys. I don't actually exercise for my levels though, it's more for heart health and bones!
