this is really the first time I've been on here and I'm just hoping to gain advice etc,I've had type1 for twelve years now i was diagnosed on my 25th b/day after months of being unwell upto now I've not a had a b/day present like it since  .

Recently I've been having problems with hypo unawareness i went to the clinic yesterday and they have now enrolled me on the DAFNE course which I'm not really that keen on but thats not for another two months,so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do until then.
i can't run my sugars any higher because most of the time its high anyway so I'm finding this very stressful on top of everything else, don't no if anyone on here is going on gone thru a similar thing?

Hi Alun,
perhaps a change of insulin would solve the hypo unawareness problems. DAFNE would help you no end as well then you control your diabetes and not the diabetes controling you.
Have you read the books think like a pancreas and using insulin? If not well worth ordering from amazon.

Hi Allun

Do you calculate your insulin using ratios or just use guesswork?

If its guesswork then finding out about carb ratios is a good idea. A basic explanation is below :) Might save you some grief while you wait 2 months  for DAFNE.
