Newbie to the site!

Hello everybody,
I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes just after my 3rd birthday. I am 30 in december, so thought I knew it all. 8)
These doctors trying to tell me how to look after myself. Ha! I've been diabetic longer than you've been a doctor... until recently I thought I was fine. Going from day to day not really taking much interest in my BM's and HbA1c has never been below 9.
Now I'm married and planning to start a family, :shock: I realised I need to start looking after myself properley and that I need help from my doctors but also from other diabetics and people living with diabetes in their lives.
So I hope we can help each other. :wink:

Hi Petee,

I did exactly the same, I was diagnosed at 9 and have ignored it all for the last 14 years, it's only been the last 18 months i've been trying really really hard to sort things out. So your not alone There's loads of stuff on here and everyone is really nice and friendly and helpful
