My name is Kim and I live in West Sussex. I've just been diagnosed with Type 2. I was rather shocked with what lies ahead of me. I may need some help please as a newbie.

Hello Kim, and welcome. You've come to the right place. I'll ask @daisy1 to give you her brilliant guide to managing your diabetes, and then you can ask anything you like. It's certainly a shock at first but all will become clear in a while ;)

Thank you Deejay. Daisy has come back to me. I don't understand all these measurements yet. I should know more on Monday I see the doctor. I see the diabetic nurse on the 27th

Good luck. Remember you have a right to see your test figures, and if you get a printout or write them down we can tell you what they mean. Doctors and nurses don't have much time and it's often difficult to remember what they say. On the forum we're not doctors (mostly) but we're (mostly) very good at being well-managed diabetics.

Hi Kim and welcome.

It can sound daunting, but getting your Diabetes under control is not incredibly hard but takes some willpower and a desire to be in control of it rather than vice versa.

What lies ahead for you is nothing to be frightened of, and could mean your life becomes better.

Hey, I'm a newbie to type 2 and a newbie to this app too.
I also have RA, Fibromyalgia, IBS, oesophageal spams(which feel like a heart attack) asthma and that's just for starters. Has anyone else got any of these diseases and been diagnosed with type 2? I'm finding the whole combination a tad overwhelming.. Any advice would be very much welcome

Hi Amgiebabiee76,

It sounds like you have a lot on.... If you introduce yourself in a brand new thread you might get more answers? Anyhoo, Daisy1 reply above is the standard 1st stop of information newbies get on here, so I would read through.
As for other conditions alongside a Type2 diagnosis, have a look in the diabetes management forum. There will be other threads or just put a condition in the search facility.
Goodluck
