Newbie with type 2 and diviticular disease

Your post reminded me of my sons experience with food intolerance. After extreme pain distress and incontinence he was finally privately diagnosed with intolerance to over 30 common foods. He was put on a very plain diet which avoided all the triggers. His inflammations subsided and he was gradually able to reintroduce most of them. Wheat and dairy proved the most problematic and had probably been the initial trigger. He now can tolerate bread and cheese but chooses to have a low carb diet. I'm so thankful to the initial consultant and feel guilty for thinking it was quackery. My son was so young for so much pain and discomfort. I don't blame the 2nhs hospitals who failed to find a way forward. I just feel blessed that we got there in the end.

Sorry for rambling, my point was that simply to be hopeful that once the triggers have been removed for a while it is possible to eat a wider range of foods.

Glad your sons okay. Mostly we feel our way once we have the correct diagnosis. Sometimes it takes a while but we get there in the end.

Fingers crossed, but konjac rice & pasta might just slide through your insides as they have a slightly surprising slippery texture. They don't cling to the inside of the sieve when rinsed, or to the saucepan after warming, as real rice or pasta tend to do.
