    West Yorkshire
    Type of diabetes:
    Treatment type:
    Tablets (oral)
    Glucophage 2g daily
Running, walking, Concept2 rowing, weight training

I see myself as a LADA in waiting.
Run, walk, train with weights. For years ate a super-healthy Mediterranean style diet. Now very LC. Trying to keep my weight and muscles up with as much protein, fat and calories as I can tolerate.
    Age 76. Height 5'9" (1m75cm). Weight 7stone 8lbs (106 lbs 48kg) BMI 15.7 (very under weight).
Multiple health problems probably caused by raised bg: AF, gastroparesis, reflux & small ulcer, bad back.
A1c 16/07 2015 40 not mentioned to me by GP
A1c 6/07 2017 41 mentioned to me by Practice nurse
Greatly influenced by Dr Bernstein and Jenny Ruhl. (And Forum.) Began low carb diet gradually getting lower.
A1c 3/01/2018 37 after a period of health problems and taking some meds that may have raised bg.
February 2018 began Metformin and gradually increased dose.
3/05 2018 Changed to Glucophage XR 2g daily
For 29 days in May fasting bg (checked at home) 5.0 or under. Motivated to be stricter about very low carb diet.
    A1c 4/06 2018 38 BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!
    A1c 6/09 2018 38
Before low carb diet: 6/7 2017 total 5.5 HDL 2.6 LDL 2.1 TRIGS 1.8 Total to HDL Ratio 2.1
After low carb diet: 3/1/ 2018 total 9.8 HDL 3.7 LDL 5.7 TRIGS 0.9 Total to HDL Ratio 2.6
    4/6 2018 total 10.5 HDL 3.0 LDL 7.1 TRIGS 1.0 Total to HDL Ratio 3.5
September 2018: I have cut carbs from my diet almost entirely but my bg has not dropped nearly as much as I hoped. In addition, I feel exhausted much of the time.
